Born on December 26, 1965, to Chief Stephen and Mrs Roseline Idugboe at the Warri Clinic in Warri, Delta State, Nigeria, Sam Ray's life has been a testament to God's faithfulness and grace. Growing up in Warri, his childhood reflected humility and responsibility. As the first of 9 children, he learned to care for his younger siblings, developing a nurturing spirit that would define his future. His charming personality, strong sense of family, community, and purpose were clear from his younger days, helping shape his entrepreneurial spirit and passion for innovation.
Sam's academic pursuit started at Catholic School 3 Warri from 1969 to 1976. He then briefly attended Baptism High School Orerokpe from 1976 to 1979, before proceeding to Hussey College from 1979 to 1983, where he obtained his West Africa Leaving Certificate. After taking gap years to engage in business and enterprise, including managing family businesses, his desire for further education led him to the University of Benin, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree with Honours from the Department of Political Science and Administration.
Outside of work, Sam Ray is a devoted husband and father, cherishing time with his family. His journey took a significant turn when he met his wife, Pastor Monica Nkechi, whose virtuous nature and support have been instrumental in his life's adventure. Sam Ray is an avid sports enthusiast, particularly enjoying football and volleyball. He played with Crescent Football Benin City and Shell Football Club, and also enjoys lawn tennis. These activities keep him active, energized, and connected with friends and community.
